Jake had to go to England for work. The town he was working in was called Newquay. He spent his weekends in London. He was there for two and a half weeks. Below is the hotel he stayed at in Newquay. It overlooks the ocean.
Jake's co-worker was out there with him along with his girlfriend. The three visited Stonehenge.
During his second week I joined him in London. Our first day we went to the British Museum.
The following picture is an open gallery inside the museum. I thought this was amazing.
The streets of London. Very busy - people everywhere. I though the street below was cool the way the buildings curved with the street.
Jake and I also visited the National Gallery of Art.
One day we visited the Tower of London. This is the famous prison of London where many royal people were executed.
These statues were made from wire
Below is a picture of the original wall. Parts of the building have been redone over time.
The Yeoman Warkers nicknamed "Beefeaters" are guards within the Towers. The Towers are now used as a tour spot and the Beefeaters serve as tour guides and guards of the British Crown Jewels. The men in this position are former officers and sergeant of the British Services. Our Beefeater was hilarious.
This is a toilet. We learned that the hole is open to the ground outside and falls down the side of the buildings down to the ground. Disgusting.

Traitor's Gate used to transport prisoner's to the Tower through this gate by the Thames river.

We went walking one night by our hotel to find a restaurant. We saw this office building and were checking out the lights up along the side of the building.
From across the street we noticed this small sign on the above building. When we went over to read the sign a man in a dress coat came out the door and appeared to be a door man. We asked him if he knew where this place was. He told us in this building. So we asked him if it was open and he said yes. Go inside go to the elevators and select floor 39. Inside the elevators there were only four floors to choose from and the elevator was against the glass looking out at the city of London. It was amazing sight to see London all lit up at night. When we reached the top there was a long hallway of mirrors and then a row of stairs that wound down the corner of the building. The stairs looked like lit up orange pexiglass and the walls were windows looking out at London. It was a little eerie walking down the stairs while looking out the window. The sushi bar was against a window that had a tree that was lit up with an orange glow. Outside by the tree there was a bar that wrapped around the tree and a sitting area.
The food was awesome and the view was amazing!

This was probably one of my all time favorite trips.
